Ancona ducks

Ancona ducks weigh between 6 and 6.5 pounds as adults.  They are hardy, adaptable, and an all-purpose duck breed; laying between 210 to 280 white, cream or blue eggs yearly.  We do not eat our ducks, but  Anconas are known for being a good, flavorful, and less fatty meat bird than pekins.  They are excellent foragers and get along well with other birds as well as children. The Ancona duck breed is on the Livestock Conservancy's Conservation Priority List level of  Watch which means there are fewer than 5,000 breeding birds currently in the U.S.
